Twin lace leaf cardi

Sweater update... it's finished!!! I used up every bit of yarn from the three skeins of Berroco Weekend. The fit is perfect and the yarn is comfy. I will probably hand wash it and lay it out to dry. (^_^)

the sweater!

Recap: Sweater #1.(top) If you remember I ran out of yarn and haven't frogged it yet. Sweater #2.(bottom)  Back, sleeves and front side panels finished.
 Grafting the shoulder seams.
Oh such a pretty and smooth seam.
Three pretty wooden crochet hooks, size G, I and J. I treated myself for mothers day.
Working on the two front seed stitch panels of the sweater which are now finished. The scary part of this was whether or not I was going to run out of yarn. I was able to finish with only one yard of yarn left!
 Another dish cloth finished.
Yay! bubble tea.
A pretty rainbow taken from the store where I work. It was really dark and bright but didn't show up in the picture that way.

Next: Sewing up the seams of the sweater and finishing it. (^_^)

It's been awhile... lets catch up..

I have neglected my blog this month. Mainly because of some health issues. I have been having severe pain in my upper thigh and hip and have been to the er twice and 3 different doctors and acupuncture for the pain . All say it is a pulled tendon. I have been in pain for over a month now, but little by little the pain is getting better. The acupuncture really helped me get over the worse pain. When I am able to rest an not walk around much, it starts to feel better.. as soon as I work a few days it gets worse and that's how it has been. Anyway I have been working on my knitting and have finished a few projects. I finished the ruffle scarf a while ago and started on some dish clothes using up the big bag of assorted cotton I have accumulated. This will be and on going project until I get tired of making them.
In the picture above is some delicious Pho that I discovered right in down town Orlando. It is now my favorite place to go.

I started this cute little scarf quite awhile ago and put the finishing touches on it this week. I just need to take some pictures and list it in my etsy shop.
As you can see there has been progress on my twin lace leaf cardi. I finished the back, the fronts and on my way to finishing the sleeves. All that is left is the two front panels, but I think I'm going to need one more ball of yarn. That means a trip to the yarn shop very soon.
This happy little fellow visited our yarn group this week. Say hello to Jackie's little grandson. What a cutie.
Not much going on here... I worked a little of the right front and put it down to finish the twin lace cardi. There really isn't much left to knit on this... I need to get working on this again.

stuff we did on a sick day

This morning I whipped up these little dish cloths and then I fixed a row on my sweater. I keep making just one mistake in the last pattern repeat before I split it for the armholes. I blame pain meds for that.
Jayden wanted to paint so we sat at the dinning room table and he painted his first painting. It kind of looks like a folk art painting. He said he wanted to paint a tree with leaves and a blue bird in a nest. He said he wanted to decorate the tree. (^_^)

project updates.

Lots of stuff has been happening since my trip to Seattle. Four days after my trip my little dog passed away. She was part of our family for 15 years. I took it pretty hard and developed a horrible nerve pain in my leg. A trip to the ER and now I'm on anti spasm meds. I also went for acupuncture and she is treating me for shingles. It's been a rough 10 days.
Anyway I have been working on my knitting which relaxes me and playing some games with Jayden. He won that round.  Hopefully I will get better soon and can stop the medication.
Here is the lace cardi which is almost at the point where I start the armholes and the ruffle scarf below that I started in Seattle. I only work on it here and knitting about two or three rows a time. As you can see from the ball of yarn that is left, it is almost finished. I hope I can still wear this with short sleeves. I love the color.

My Seattle visit

Well I am back home.. have gone to work again...and trying to adjust to the time change. I had a wonderful time in the Seattle area and really didn't want to come back to Florida hahah. As far as knitting goes, I didn't get much knitting done on the projects I brought with me but made a hat for my son, some dish clothes and a little crochet pouch for an i-pod and head phones. Mostly I enjoyed the company of my sons and their friends and all there is to see in Seattle. I didn't make it to the local Stitch n' bitch because I thing we were burned out from sight seeing. Anyway here are some pictures of my vacation.
A day of hiking to the beach. We had to wade through a little tunnel that was full of icy cold water. I loved all the drift wood on the beach. It was a beautiful sunny day.

The next day it was a little rainy so we went and ate at the Korean B-B-Q. I have never been to one and all I can say is that it was awesome and yummy. The next day it was off to the yarn shops. This was the first one we visited in Edmonds. It was really cute but we arrive right before the shop was closing so we took a quick look but didn't purchase anything.

A drift wood whale on Edmonds beach. I didn't take pictures of the yarn shop that I actually purchased yarn in... probably because the shop was so fabulous that I forgot to. It is the yarn shop in Mill Creek called Main Street yarn.

 Yarn goodies.
Game night. We played Stone age. I actually got that game.. some take a few times playing to get the hang of them.
Mid week projects. Finishing the Simple sprinkle for my son, Lace leaf cardi back, and a boy beanie.
Visited the local DSW. A beautiful new store... very large!
A day trip to the city of Seattle. We parked and road the trolly to Pikes Place market. What an adventure.

Yes.. this is where they throw the fish. It was a horribly busy day there, but I did see a fish fly through the air.
The notorious gum wall.. I don't think I need to say more. We were in awe of all the gum stuck on the wall...

My son's room mate used to drive and live on this tug boat. We got to go inside. It's like a little house trailer inside with 3 floors. So cool.
More food... This is Sushi land. Little plates of sushi travel around on a conveyer belt and you choose the ones you want. That was pretty fun. Next there was PHO. Yummy is all I have to say. This was the first time I tried it and its really good if you like fragrant soup with rice noodles and I love noodles.
I had time to visit Edmunds college. Both of my son's attend there. Other things we did were visit Trader Joes and some more walking around Mill Creek and more game nights and just spent time together. I had a great time. (^_^)
