I completed my ducky buddy bag.. the beak and wings of the ducky are crochet and the pool pocket ( I hope it looks like water) was made with a tunisian crochet wave stitch...I haven't done tunisian crochet in years and I never really liked it.. but that little pocket was fun to make.. I'll have to look into some more tunisian crochet projects for the future... anyway I'm pleased with how the bag turned out...this bag is for a little girl..(Abby likes duckys) I was thinking of a little frog for a little boy too.. these bags are so fun to make.. the basic pattern is from annypurls.

More little people socks.. these will be my carry-a-round projects for awhile. They fit very nice and will keep little toes warm this winter..it's been chilly in the evenings here.

This is the beginning of my second two-ton shrug from fitted knits. I'm using King Tut 100% cotton yarn. I like the way it's knitting up... soft.. stretchy.. smooth.. shinny.. hehe

How to have a HeNrY of your own.. (^_^)

Poly-fill beads

The body of the snowman is knit in garter stitch and the hat is knit in the round

The basic ball pattern is from the lion brand free pattern listing.. under knitting. It's called the Christmas Ornament Catnip Pet Toy. To view this pattern you will need to set up a screen name and password ... but all is free. I followed this pattern to knit each of the balls using size 6 needles and wool-ease . I knit the bottom ball with red heart super saver and size 7 needles.
Sew up the side of the ball leaving a hole at the top for filling.
*Before closing up each ball I cut a small piece of nylon panthose , pushed this into the opening of each ball and filled with poly-fill beads. Use a needles and sewing thread to close up the nylon stocking. Push the rest of the stocking into the ball and finish sewing it up.* I filled the balls so that the expanded a little.

Next using a yarn needle and some yarn I sewed all three balls together starting at the bottom.. going up through the center of each ball and then back down to the bottom again making sure that they are secure and not wobbly.

Sew on buttons for eyes and nose.. buttons for his body. ( these can also be glued on)

With a pipe cleaner pick up 2 stitches on the side of the body where u want his arm to be. Pull the pipe cleaner so that the stitches are at the center. Pinch the 2 ends together and twist them so they are smoothly twisted until there is about 1/2" left open for his fingers. Repeat for the other arm.

Henry's Hat.
With red MC(or the color of your choice)and size 6 DPNs cast on 36 stitchs and place and equal amount on 3 needles. PM(place marker)

it's HenRy!!

Meet Henry the snowman.. he's all ready for the winter season with his little red and white cap.. he started out as some knit hacky sack toys.. that just didn't do it for me.. so I decided to sew them together.. and then they needed some eyes and a nose and some buttons an of course a little hat..oops some pipe cleaner arms too... and then.. he was Henry..

This is supposed to be a ducky in a pond... hum.. can u see it.. !!!.. my water kind of looks like an above group pool liner.. maybe it needs some pool side grass.. I used a tunisian wave pattern for the water.. the directions were a bit vague as far as how many chains per wave so I had to wing it... and I haven't done this type of crochet for many years.. but.. I found that is fun to do and very fast.. and would like to make more projects using tunisian stitches for maybe some borders and stuff.. fun fun..
I've casted on another two-tone shrug from fitted knits... this one in cotton.. more on that later.. busy busy busy.. so busy...

2 quickies!!

I've been working on annypurls birdy buddy bag for the past few day.. how fun to knit and surprisingly cute.. cuter in person than I thought it was in the picture.(isn't it always like that) Working 2 part time jobs gives me odd moments to squeeze in some knitting so I cheated on the bag and used the knitting machine. This shortened the amount of knitting time on this project.. I think it only took me a little over an hour to knit the bag... the i-cord, puppet and embellishments took quite a bit longer than that. I'm just about to make another bag in pink and I'm going to change the birdy a bit to look like a ducky..

These little socks knit up really fast. This pattern is from the lionbrand web site. I hope to make a few more for little feet..I used the yarn they called for which is wool-ease. (^_^)

The swatches that I was working on in the previous post were for Cherie amour.. from Knitty fall 2007.. and the beige cotton is for another two-tone shrug from fitted knits by Stefanie Japel.
(That crazy pumpkin picture was circulating the internet a couple of years ago.. and of course I saved it..(^_^))

Done with the uglies.. all except a zipper.. I still haven't had a chance to run to Joanns for a zipper... maybe I'll be able to get there on Friday.

I started my two-tone shrug from fitted knits.. so far so good and so far it's pretty easy and mindless knitting.. I need a bit of that every once in awhile... I'm almost done with the body and ready to start the sleeves... I've been knitting on my break at work and any spare minute that I can squeeze in.. sometimes I only knit 2 rows.. but little by little it has been adding up...

Speaking of work.... I started cashiering at Michaels craft store.. and being on the other side of the cash register on the weekends with very long lines at various times of day.. I start to see a pattern... people tend to be very careless with where they put their money.. which is a bit strange seeing as money is earned and takes quite a bit of hours to earn it.. I just thought that would make you want to keep it safe and organized.. over 90% of people that pay with either credit cards or cash have a hard time finding it.. they have to look in many different wallets and zipper compartments in purses.. or they have giant wallets with many different pockets and zippers all stuffed with all sorts of things that makes it very hard to find money or change... more than once ..while pulling out money in that sort of wallet ..wads of bills have popped out on to the counter .. which the owner seemed very unaware of ... scary... to top that off.. I had to call the person 3 or 4 times to make them aware of it.. all that searching and digging for change and bills makes the lines not move.. and I'm sure that in the rush of things people have been loosing money in the process.. (well not at my register anyway).. but maybe a good wallet and or purse cleaning is in order.. have your money and credit cards ready when u go to pay for stuff... keep money only in one wallet and stick all the other stuff.. (receipts and lists) somewhere else.. this way lines will move along a bit faster and possibly that $20 u thought u had will not have dropped out somewhere..0.0.. (just a suggestion).
