I still have to decorate the arch and a few other things.. shew.. now I'm about to run off to work.. I don't want to even think about next week yet.. I will be starting my new job..!!!

mOre WeDdinG stuFf...!!

Well.. we finished the favors.. just about finished the place cards and the guest bowl..(we are having pretty colored cards for the guest to sign and drop in a pretty glass container in stead of a book)

More and more wedding stuff piling up on the dinning room table..

Wooo.. the wedding arch is all put together.. I haven't decorated it yet.. that will have to wait for tomorrow.. I'm going to drape pretty fall color leaf garlands around it and top it off with more of the bridal flowers and some thick white satin ribbon..
Yesterday we picked up the dress.. we were a little disappointed when she first tried on the dress.. It hadn't been cleaned and there was a hole where the zipper is (which wasn't there before) but all was speedily fixed.. it took about a hour to steam clean the dress and the hole was expertly stitched.. unfortunately the dress was hemmed a hair too long.. so the pretty ribbon at the hem pulled under the dress when she walk.. this was also speedily fixedalso.. with the addition of a slip with multiple layers ... all is beautiful now expertly packed in its thick vinyl bag... just waiting for Sunday.... I can't believe how beautiful she looks walking in that dress.. I guess I'll have to hold a box of tissues during the ceremony... (^-^)

RuNniNg..and runNinG some moRe..

So many things are going on at the same time this week.. as you can see my knitting time has been cut back a bit.. so this is my progress on the hemlock ring blanket as of today.. Right now I'm on row58 of the pattern.. it doesn't look like it in the picture probably because it's all bunched up on the needles.. I think I need to pick up another needle or two very soon.. I'm not sure how many rows I want to do... You can do as many as 151 rows which would give you a total of 792 sts...!!! Good thing I have until January to finish this...

Wedding preperations... the progress is slow and the Wedding is this Sunday..which seems to be coming faster than usual....We have all the table decor finished and the bouquets and boutonniers... today we are going to work on all favors today.. and finding the right color ribbon has been causing a problem... I have to run out today again and see if I can find them.. During all this activity I applied for a new job and was hired... I have to finish working the posted schedule at Michaels.. but in the mean time.. I've been running to interviews and orientation on my days off.. tommorrow will be my first real day off and... we will be cleaning and getting everything ready for this Sunday.. omy.. so much running around..!! and the flowErs..

Here are the bridal bouquets.. these took me all day yesterday to make.. for some reason the pictures didn't come out that nice.. all that shiny white ribbon and an over cast day.. the smaller is for the brides maid and the larger one to the right is for the bride...her theme for this wedding is autumn and I think the flowers are perfect. I used a 2" wide white satin ribbon with a thinner sheer ribbon layered on top.. and right under the flowers is a puff of tulle... the middle of each bow is tacked down with pearl head pins..(that was the hardest part too.. they had to be perfect..)

mOre wEddiNg on a budgEt..

Today is my day off.. and this is what I've been working all day... not having done this before... it's way harder than it looks.. well for me it is at least. I wanted to have nice finished ends where the ribbons join.. so I actually sewed them but hand... this is the brides maid bouquet and the boutonnieres...
I have been knitting a little on my Hemlock Ring Blanket too.. I need to get a longer needle because right now it's all bunched up and doesn't look like much.. maybe I'll have time to to do that tomorrow and take a new picture of the progress.. well back to wrapping ribbon....

mOre WeDdinG stuFf...

Here is the color scheme for our fall wedding... this is a wedding on a budget.. a small budget.. so simple and colorful is the way we are going...

Yesterday we started making table decor.. and this is part of what we came up with.. the table linens and plates will be white ... we are going to fill the glass containers with water and float white candles on top.... getting back to knitting.. I found the row I was working on in the pattern and have knit a few more rows.. I'm off to work now .. and right after work I'll be heading over to the INOKissimmee meeting .. hopefully I'll get a few more rows knit tonight.. (^_^)

the BlaHs....

Today is one of those kind of blah days... between work and running around to gather wedding decorations, bridal gown fittings and all the other prep work... I'm pooped..!!! Now my table is full of wedding stuff from Michaels.. and for some reason we haven't moved it from there yet.. at least I had a fun day at work yesterday... It was "make it take it" day yesterday at Michaels and I got to do the demos.. I sat at the store entrance and invited people to decorate cookies and make fun greeting cards...I got to play with icing too.. so fun.!!

My knitting has also suffered .. I have been stuck on the same row now for a day.. Jayden keeps running away with my row marker.. so at this point.. who knows which row I'm on. I tried to figure it out last night but I was too tired.. I will try again today... A day of knitting and relaxing is what I need I think.. I need to regroup..!!

2 projects......

I finished 2 projects yesterday... a crochet wedding garter..
Yarn: Aunt Lydia's Classic crochet thread size 10
Hook: B-2
Pattern: Modified crochet edging.

Childs dance sweater:
First of all I have to say.. this is one of those problematic projects... first there was a mistake in the directions that was promptly corrected.. rip #1, then I had a problem understanding the armhole decreases.. rip#2, I had used a different gauge yarn because I wanted the sweater to come out a little smaller.. it came out way to small ...rip #3... after going up a size needle I was able to finish.. but I tried it on a toddler and the underarms were tight and binding.. so instead of sewing the armhole I added a little gusset in the arm hole.. but since this yarn is bulky the gusset looks bulky too when the sweater isn't on.. but it did fix the problem and at this point I think that is the best this sweater is going to come out.. I think this is an ugh project.. but the yarn is soft... and I am still going to give it to Abby..
Yarn: Patons shetland chunky
Needles: size 10 and 11
Pattern: Child's Dance Sweater ( from living crafts)

Some times it might be better to frog and not continue.. >.<

humm.. a Wedding..!!

Well here it is ... the green nemesis... it's almost finished.. as you can see I haven't sewn the underarm seems... I'm pretty sure when I sew up the seems it will make the shoulder too short and binding in the underarms.. so... I think I will add a little gusset in the underarm to give it a little more room.. I think if I had used the yarn that the pattern called
for it probably would fit better..

There is a wedding in the air...(no.. it's not mine!!)... and I was looking at some wedding garters and didn't really like what I saw.. so I'm going to crochet one.. or attempt to crochet one using this lace edging pattern.. then threading some pretty ribbon through the the top.

We went shopping for the wedding dress yesterday... here is a little of our wedding gown buying experience.. there was literally a sea of white wedding dresses to choose from...all equally as pretty as the next... we went to Davids Bridals and even on a small budget.. we were tended to very well... the bride to be tried on many many dresses.. here are the final few... hummm.. which did she choose.. !!

They say 3 times a charm.. well.. here is my second time and it just did not work out.. this was ripped out ... again.. ( there have been a few rippings).. and now ...

I have started yet again.. this time on a larger needle.. The whole story is.. I wanted the sweater to come out at least a size smaller than the pattern.. but it came out too small.. that was the reason for one of the froggings.. the first was a problem with the pattern which I found out when I got to the underarms.. the reason for the first frogging.. you can see how this story is going.. so.. now this is my 3rd time ... and so far it looks better.. pattern mistake fixed...gauge problem fixed.. hopefully in a couple of hours this will be finished..
When I found out there was a problem with this pattern I posted on ravelry and the designer posted the correction in less than 5 minutes.. how is that for service!! Right after the ribbing is finished for the body of the sweater there is a decrease row. ... It should read "yo, k2tog, k2.. repeat . The yo (yarn over ) was omitted in the pattern.

Just for girls..

As always... when finishing one project.. your mind is already thinking of the next project you would like to knit... this is the project that I would like to make next. I haven't done a gauge swatch yet with this yarn.. It's a little thinner than they yarn used in the pattern but I want the sweater to be a little smaller.. a size 2 instead of size 4.. maybe that will work.. The pattern is called Child's dance sweater and it is in theFall 2008 Living Crafts magazine. The yarn is Patons Shetland chunky in leaf green.

daily progress...

I haven't done much knitting in the last few days.. just on my breaks at work. I did finished the crochet border on the baby blanket and started some matching baby socks.. you can see the progress in the picture.. I think I might add a little crochet trim on the edge of the socks also..
Last night was the second INOKissimmee knitting group meeting. We had a nice turn out of 6 ladys.. I had to work yesterday so Jody and I met at Panara breads after I got out of work for a bite to eat before we went over to Books-A-Millions.. all in all a fun night... Nice thing about meeting in Books-A-Million .. everything you could possibly need is really close.. including Michaels.. if you run out of yarn or want to start a new project.. (^-^)
